Hi guys, just a reminder that we have to write a 400-500 word article for the RSENR newsletter, due march 1st. I think we should shoot for a draft on the 20th. This article is a great excuse to get our assignments for this course out of the way! I think that we should shoot to have your individual projects complete for this write-up, as they can be the core of the article. This works perfectly because your individual project is to gather all the information needed to perform your selected analysis method and write a cheat-sheet, or standard operating procedure (SOP). This should be easy because you will be doing your analysis in your lab sessions anyway and figuring out, in a hands-on way, how to write the SOP. If we can get this done, then the assignment portion of your work will be complete and you can just come in and perform your lab duties, which are the core of your internship. This is because the SOP/standard methods, and MSDS sheets are exactly what you will be putting on the lab website, which becomes our final presentation in lieu of a a poster or video- except for you John, I'll have you make a video for your extra credit.
